The Atypical Brand
Week 1: 10/30
First things first, let’s get this clear… I do not intend to flood your inbox with emails.
But, I do think I can provide you with more weekly value in the form of tangible resources, products, content, and tools that I am actively experimenting with and reviewing if they should be a part of my development journey.
So, that is what this Wednesday Newsletter will be.
Hopefully, you find this both useful and informative for your decisions regarding things you are considering adding to your development program.
Basketball Shoes I’ve Been Wearing
Adidas Harden 8’s “After Hours”

I have only really worn these in practice because I just can’t quite trust them yet for a game. Big complaint is that when I cut aggressively with my knee over my toe to the outside the heel hold digs into my skin leaving a blister. They are also a little heavy.
Grip: 9/10 (great for cutting and lateral movements)
Bounce: 7/10 (little heavy and almost forward leaning)
Comfort: 6/10 (blisters on outside of ankle/foot)
Style: 8/10 (love the look, but someone said they look like sandals and white Nike socks from far away…)
Overall: 7.6 (solid shoe for practice, but have not passed the game check yet)
GBG Hoops Training App
These last 2 or so weeks since I’ve been “healthy” and playing. During this time, I have still not felt my best and my body feels out of sync and cohesion. It feels like everything is firing slow and hesitant due to some lingering pain and instability in both my shoulder and calf.
To combat this I have added in some of the exercises from Mike G’s training programs in his training app.
Mike G. is the best of the best when it comes to sports specific athletic training and works with some of the best basketball-movers in the world (Jrue Holiday, Mike James, Anthony Davis, Fred VanFleet, Lonnie Walker, and many more).
Here is what my workout program page looks like along with some of the pre-made programs offered.

Pre-made workout programs
This app is a game-changer for me in terms of having all of my needed workouts and exercises in one place. If you are serious about your body and basketball development, then you need to at least check this out.
Use my code “TreyD20” for 20% off of your first 4 months.
The link for the app is here.
Yes, I am working with Mike G., but I promise you I had been using his programs well before this. He is the man and has been a huge resource for me in my basketball career.
