Be Who You Say You Are
Atypical Audit Vol. 4 Week of 7/14-7/20

Some Big Changes…
This past week, I announced on Instagram that I will no longer be playing with SL Benfica, the club I've proudly represented for the past two seasons. It’s been a truly meaningful chapter, two years filled with growth, learning, and development. On and off the court, I’ve taken huge strides, becoming more confident and capable in handling challenges and responsibility.
That progress did not happen by accident. It’s the result of countless hours of hard work and commitment, but also the unwavering support of my coaches and teammates. I’m deeply grateful to them for pushing me, believing in me, and helping me become a better player and person.
My time in Lisbon was unforgettable. Representing a club as special as Benfica was an honor, and it will always hold a special place in my heart and in my family's.
Now, it’s time for the next chapter. I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining BC Lietkabelis in the Lithuanian LKL and BKT EuroCup. I’m looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities ahead.

I’m stoked about the opportunity to compete in the second-best competition in all of Europe, the BKT EuroCup, especially with a club that has such passionate, diehard fans.
Playing for BC Lietkabelis is a challenge I’m ready for and truly excited about.
Atypical is going to Lithuania.
Be Who You Say You Are
This week, I was in Gilbert, Arizona, my wife’s hometown, celebrating her birthday. It was a bit of a vacation, but it happened to land right in the middle of one of the most important weeks of my offseason training. So I had to problem-solve and find a way to stay locked in.
Through a random connection at a gym in Tacoma, I got in touch with current Baskonia and EuroLeague star Markus Howard. His older brother, Desmond Howard, has trained Markus and their younger brother Jordan for most of their lives. I reached out to Desmond to see if I could get a workout in, and he responded, “We can work, but it’s going to be at 4:45 AM.”
Now, that’s early. Like, “ruin the schedule of your entire day” early. Haha.
When he said that, I had to take a moment and look in the mirror.
Would the person I say I am, the person I believe I am, get up and show up for that workout?
The answer was a resounding yes. So I did it. And I went back for a second session too.
Beyond the physical work, waking up at 4:00 AM to train in the middle of summer was a test of my commitment. It was not the most logical thing to do, but that was not the point. Choosing to do the hard thing, especially when I did not want to, strengthened my belief in myself.
Upcoming Atypical
The Atypical Workout Logs are already nearly 50% sold out and that honestly makes me really happy. Knowing that over 250 people were out there looking for the next tool to help their development and found value in the Atypical Workout Log, that’s exactly what this brand is about.
Atypical exists to inspire and educate the next generation of pro athletes.
And this is just the beginning.

To go hand-in-hand with the Atypical Workout Log, I’ve recently dropped two YouTube videos that should be a big help as you plan your offseason training.
The first video is a broad outline on how to structure your offseason in a way that maximizes growth without sacrificing your in-season readiness or risking burnout and overtraining.
The second video is a rough outline of how to build out a week of basketball skill training during the offseason. It includes five distinct workouts and a sample weekly structure designed for Phase 2, the “build-up” phase, of your offseason. It’s a great starting point for anyone looking to add intention and variety to their skill work.
Both of these videos are designed to give you real, actionable value. If you check them out, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to drop a comment with any questions or feedback on how I can better support you on your journey as an aspiring pro hooper.
Final Thoughts
There is a huge amount of change on the horizon.
At times, it can feel overwhelming, but I keep reminding myself that these emotions are part of the process. Growth doesn’t come without discomfort. Nothing great has ever been achieved without risk and courage.
This is what elevation looks like. New levels. New challenges.
And I’m ready for it.
We’re ready for it, Atypical Community.
Grateful to have you all rocking with me.
